Founded in 1992, 4T’s Teaching Teens To Think (formally True To The Trade) is a not-for-profit, private foundation that helps youth reflect on their education, career and overall future. Youth ages 16-24 are inspired to re-engage their education and effectively prepare for the workforce. They are provided the tools and resources needed in order to build their community and make a positive contribution to society. Services are individually tailored to each youth. Youth are motivated to discover their inherent skill set, to think about the importance of a five-year plan, and to take personal responsibility in developing their plan to lead a successful life. Since 2006, 4T’s has helped a fraction of inner city youth from the five boroughs of NYC to finish their education and plan for their future through Mr. Bentley’s individualized services. His approach is consistent in everything the organization does with students and educators, thanks to his tireless efforts as President of this organization.
The organization has grown from a concept on paper to one that’s building a name for itself, having formed effective partnerships with influential schools, organizations and businesses; some of which include Allan L Locke middle school, Bread & Roses Integrated Arts high school, New York Public Library, Salvation Army Harlem Temple Corps,LIU, The Boys and Girls Club, and Abyssinian Development Corporation.
